That low-life scum O.J. Simpson was actually pretty funny in the Naked Gun series, but if you’re a fan of Leslie Nielsen’s deadpan style and you haven’t seen this classic, it’s one of his funniest films. Nielsen plays Frank Drebin, a bumbling cop who always ends up saving the day despite his inability to perform even the most menial of tasks without screwing it up somehow. While I’m not usually a fan of slapstick, it’s done to great effect and complements Nielsen’s foolish, sarcastic humor perfectly. Not the kind of epic film that deserves a 5, or even a 4, but it’ll do the trick to make you laugh.
